Chappaqua Garden Club Tour of Gilbertie's Organics

Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of Gilbertie's Organics, one of the country's oldest certified organic growers and where the CGC sources herbs and veggies for our May Plant Sale, on Tuesday, October 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Located at 65 Adam's Road, Easton, CT, this tour will take us through the history and daily operations of this family-owned farm, which has been growing organically since 1922.

During our visit, we'll learn about:

• The history of Gilbertie's Organics and its 100+ year legacy.
• How microgreens are grown and harvested.
• The process of growing and fulfilling orders for potted plants.
• What it means to be a certified organic farm.
• Gilbertie's unique innovations, including their patented plant tags.
• Visit to their witch hazel growing area.
• A visit to the soil barn to learn about the foundation of healthy plant growth.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or simply curious about sustainable growing practices, this tour offers a wonderful opportunity to learn, ask questions, and gain inspiration for your own garden.
