District IX General Meeting: The Art of Pruning

  • 07/20/2020
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • via Zoom

You are probably looking out at the rain and stormy wind right now. My shrubs are in dire need of pruning already due to the recent rain, sun, rain, and, of course, humidity! I'm guessing that you are having the same experience, and so, just in time, our speaker, Pam Michels, will be presenting a lecture with photo examples on The Art of Pruning.  This meeting will be done via Zoom. If you don't know what that is, please ask your children or grandchildren. It is a very user-friendly app to have on your phone or computer. Many of you Presidents have probably already used it to conduct your Club Board and general meetings. If so, please let me know how it is working for you.  The meeting will begin at 10:00, and Pam Michels will speak at 10:45.   -Rosemary Eshghi

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Pam is a professional gardener. She works for Terra Bella Land Design in Mamaroneck doing seasonal hand pruning and container installation.  Pam has been a volunteer in the Native Plant Garden at the New York Botanical Garden since 2016. Each season from April through October she works with the staff to weed, plant, repot and occasionally prune in the exquisite 3.5 acre native setting. During that time she earned her NYBG Gardening certificate and began work toward a Horticulture certificate. In her home garden lawn has given way to meandering paths through native flowers, shrubs, grasses and trees planted in large beds that open to seating areas, raised vegetable beds and storage.
