SENIORS/Garden Therapy Weekly Meeting (05/26/2026)

Join us Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00 PM for the Senior Gardening Program behind the New Castle Community Center at 10 Senter Street.

Throughout the season, we will plant, maintain, and harvest a variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers for participants to take home. The program is open to all seniors, but sessions are weather-dependent. If in doubt, please contact the Community Center at 914-238-8888 for clarification. This program is a partnership of the Chappaqua Garden Club and the New Castle Recreation and Parks Department.

At this time, this is not a club event just a fun outing to go to on your own or informally with club buddies.

Bring a selection of vegetables and a container!

Colorful veggies like carrots, bell peppers, corn, any type of Asian eggplant will work great. There will be some containers available, floral foam (sorry), and supplies like tape/wire. The metal container we used in the Thanksgiving centerpiece workshop is perfect for vegetables.

Pollinator Pallooza (06/05/2026)

We won a grant! Now we are lucky to have 500 pollinator plants to add to the garden at the Chappaqua Library. Good Job Karen Bazik!

All are welcome to join us for the planting palooza. Bring a smile and maybe a shovel or trowel and be part of the effort. Even if just to lend support - it is always fun when we are together.

There will be games for kids and refreshments after the planting is done.

The Chappaqua Garden Club has arranged a private tour of Sleepy Cat Farm in Greenwich, Connecticut on Tuesday, June 9 at 10:00 AM.
(Rain date: FRIDAY, June 12)

Sleepy Cat Farm is a stunning 13-acre private estate featuring beautifully designed garden “rooms,” pavilions, pathways, water features, sculpture, and extraordinary seasonal plantings. Thoughtfully created over many years, the landscape offers a harmonious blend of horticulture, architecture, and artistic expression — truly an inspiring experience for garden lovers.

Details:
Cost: $10 per person
Tour Length: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
Parking: Space is limited to about 8–10 cars, so carpooling is strongly recommended

The garden is 13.5 acres and has numerous steps (most without railings) and grade changes, so it is recommended to wear sturdy footwear.
